Ankh of life…
In tantra, it’s important to understand the meaning of sex. Masculine and feminine have different meanings than what we are used to.
In western thought, the woman is passive and the man is active. In eastern thought, this is reversed. The divine masculine is the stillness of untouchable and transcendent awareness. The divine feminine is all energy, matter, and form that dances in continual death and birth.
Everything you perceive and feel and do is part of the Divine feminine. The thing inside of you experiencing but not doing is the Divine masculine. We all have a balance of genders within us.
So taking this all into consideration, what does tantric sex mean?
The cosmos itself is a many billion year long sex session between Lord Shiva and his consort Shakti. This union is the basis of our very reality and results from these gods doing the nasty.
Therefore when a tantrika engages in tantric sex, he invites the God into his body and the Goddess into his partner’s. The goal isn’t to keep these boundaries but to move beyond them. The God/Goddess is the final duality before entering into the non-duality of the absolute.
Tantric sex is a powerful and rollicking fun way to get “there”.
